Amenities

Special attention to detail truly makes the H. S. Clay House "a peaceful haven faraway from the everyday". However, we do provide televisions with satellite, VCR's and/or DVD and CD players in the two suites and Guest Cottage. Wi-Fi is available for all guests.

Upon Arrival

Home-baked chocolate chip cookies, chocolate dipped biscotti, sun-tea and lemonade or hot tea, cocoa and cider.

Happy Hour

Appetizers with a variety of cheeses, pate', peppered smoked salmon, humus, bison and summer sausages, and of course, our "Welcome Punch".

Full Gourmet Breakfast

Freshly ground coffees, teas, hot chocolates, choice of juices with fruit course and beignets or muffins. The main course may include:  Traditional eggs benedict, country style benedict, shirred eggs, custard french toast, quiches, country style potatoes, maple glazed peppered bacon and sage sausage.

Pool and Hot Tub Spa

Surrounded by double tiered decks with umbrella tables, gazeboes, and lounge chairs. The flower-filled planters are lit with twinkle lights so the decks can be enjoyed in the evening as well as the daytime. There is a covered patio with park benches and fire pit adjacent to the hot tub and fish pond with waterfall.

Perennial Gardens

Three fourths of the front yard is woodland and perennial gardens with garden whimsy, water sculptures, fountains and twinkle lights.

Attractions

Within walking distance of two wineries, a micro brewery, specialty shops, restaurants, and antique shops. We are within a short drive of four more local wineries in Augusta. Here is a link for Augusta Missouri Wineries and another for all Missouri Wineries.

Other attractions in the area include Missouri's famous Katy Trail for those who would like to take a scenic bike ride.
